how I work
I provide a comfortable space in which we can explore the issues troubling you, together, in confidence and without judgement. I will listen attentively to all that you express and we will think about your difficulties together in the context of your unique personal emotional experience.
The therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process. A deeper understanding of your feelings, created together, can help relieve emotional distress and lead to healthier ways of coping with life.
practical matters
We will arrange an initial meeting during which we can begin by talking through what has brought you to therapy at this time. Having spent some time together we will have an idea if it feels right to begin working together, and if appropriate, we can discuss the practicalities going forward.
The charge for this initial 50 minute meeting is £70. If there is a readiness to proceed with regular therapy, we will arrange to meet for a 50 minute session at a regular time each week. Twice-weekly sessions are available, as are early morning and evening appointments.
I work with individual adults, generally offering open ended counselling. Short-term, focussed work may be considered more appropriate in specific circumstances.
The therapy I offer is usually conducted face-to-face. The environment I provide and the dynamic we experience together is fundamental to our work. I also offer sessions via Zoom and telephone.
